Advisory

Legal-technology deployment and governance advisory.

CLPS advises law firms, in-house legal teams, and corporates on how legal technology is selected, governed, and rolled out, from first pilot to firm-wide adoption.

Services

Legal-technology deployment strategy

Tool selection and sequencing for law firms and in-house teams: mapping practice-group workflows against vendor capabilities, running bounded pilots with defined success criteria, and building the business case for firm-wide adoption on evidence rather than vendor claims.

AI governance policy drafting

Drafting and implementing firm-wide AI-use policies that survive contact with actual practice: tool-by-tool risk tiering, approval and escalation workflows, vendor data-handling due diligence, and the confidentiality and privilege safeguards AI-assisted work requires.

Change management for firm-wide rollout

Sequencing a rollout from pilot to adoption: partner buy-in, training cascade design, usage monitoring, and the review cadence that keeps a governance framework current as tools and practice change.

Engagement model

Engagements are scoped and fixed-term rather than retainer-led. A typical sequence: a short diagnostic (tool inventory and risk mapping), a defined deliverable (deployment plan or governance policy), and an implementation phase with the client's own team carrying the rollout. Advisory work is independent of any vendor. CLPS takes no referral fees and recommends no products it is compensated to recommend.

Case studies

Anonymised case studies from completed engagements will be published here. In the interim, the advisory desk's approach is illustrated in its published insights, including the practical AI governance checklist for in-house legal teams.
